RAHIM YAR KHAN: Two suspected dacoits were killed while another suspect and three policemen were critically injured during an alleged encounter in the katcha area of Machka on Tuesday.

Police spokesperson Saif Ali Wains told Dawn that a police operation against the Sailra Gang in the riverbed area of Katcha Kharor near Machka was under way when they started firing on police.

Meanwhile, District Police Officer Akhtar Farooq with other officers reached there and a heavy exchange of gunfire ensued.

Resultantly, two gang members were killed and three policemen critically injured, who were initially shifted to Kashmore Hospital but later moved to SZMCH.
