Over Rs11bn for cardiology institute in Sargodha

LAHORE: The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) on Friday approved development schemes of the Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cardiology, Sargodha, at a cost of Rs8.546 billion as well as specialised medical equipment for the institute at a cost of Rs2.9 billion.

The PDWP`s 58th fiscal 2024-25 meeting, chaired by P&D BoardChairman Barrister Nabeel Awan, approved five development schemes with an estimated cost of Rs14.7 billion.

The working party approved the rehabilitation/augmentation of a comprehensive sewerage and drainage scheme in Raiwind City, Lahore district (Phase-I), at an estimated cost of Rs1.814 billion. It also approved the rehabilitation of a comprehensive water supply scheme in Raiwind City at an estimated cost of Rs1.388 billion.The PDWP also approved a scheme to conduct a feasibility study on remodeling and rehabilitation of the 3R-Abbasia Drainage System to address waterlogging of agricultural land under CCA of Abbasia Canal in tehsils Liaquatpur and Rahim Yar Khan (PC-II) at a cost of Rs45.924 million.

The meeting was also attended by P&D Board secretary Dr Asif Tufail, Chief Economist Masood Anwar, board members and other senior officials.
