SUKKUR: A teenage girl and her father were electrocuted when faulty wiring of a water pumping machine caused them to suffer electric shock at their home in Torband village within the limits of Gaheja police station in Madeji taluka, Shikarpur district, late on Thursday evening.

Family members and relatives said that when 13-year-old Kiran Leelan Kehar switched on the machine she suffered electric shock. Her 60-year-old father Haji Abdul Karim Kehar ran to save her but he too suffered the bolt and both father and daughter fell unconscious,they said.

They rushed the victims to the nearest hospital where doctors pronounced them dead on arrival. The doctors handed them back the bodies after completion of medico-legal formalities, they said.

The bodies were transported to Torband village where funeral prayer was offered and the deceased were laid to rest.
