MIRPURKHAS: A hou-se went up in flames after blast in LPG cylinder shop illegally established on its premises in Al Imran Town here on Friday.

Neighbours said that the house owner Rashid was filling LPG in cylinders at his shop when a cylinder exploded with a deafening sound during the refilling process, and led to fire on the premises. Luckily, all family members escaped unhurt as they had run out to safety before the fire engulfed the house, they said.

They said that they informed fire brigade, which arrived immediately along with officials of city administration and started rescue work. The firefighters extinguished the fire after of a few hours of hectic efforts.

People of the area said that the district administration should impose complete ban on all LPG shops illegally established in thickly populated localities.
