LANDI KOTAL: An Afghan was killed and another was critically wounded when an Afghanistan-bound container fell on a cab near Jamrud on Monday.

Khasadar officials said a container, loaded with commercial goods for Afghanistan, fell on a cab near Shahgai while trying to negotiate a narrow turn on an uneven track. Two Afghan passengers, Abdul Basit and Suleman, who were onboard the taxi, were injured critically.

A khasadar patrolling party pulled the injured from the crushed car and took them to Jamrud hospital, where Basit succumbed to injuries, while Suleman was shifted to Peshawar.

Meanwhile, MNA Haji Shahji Gul on Monday expressed dismay over the unhygienic condition in Jamrud bazaar and asked the municipal staff to attend their duties.
