LAHORE: The Punjab Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) has asked the Punjab Information Commission to review its earlier order of providing information to an applicant because the Lahore High Coun allowed sharing of attested copies of only final report of an inquiry.
The commission had recently asked the ACE to share information with an applicant and asked it to revise its rules that disallowed it in direct violation of the Punjab Transparency and Right to Information Act.
The ACE, in its review petition, maintained that only attested copies of the repon of dropped cases could be furnished with prior permission of the competent authority under the ACE rules.
And the Lahore High Coun had in a writ petition declared that the ACE could issue attested copy of the final repon of an inquiry as copies of remaining documents could not be supplied under its rules.
Information commission officials said that the ACE had not cited the LHC order during the pendency of the complaint on which it had ordered sharing of information with an applicant.
The ACE has been summoned to explain its case on Feb 22.
