HYDERABAD: A United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) expert has called for proper planning, implementation and integrated efforts to ensure sustainable consumption and production in Pakistan.

Dr Mushtaq Ahmed Memon said this while conducting a graduate seminar on ‘Sustainable Consumption and Production: Sustainable Development Goal-12’ organised by the US-Pakistan Centre for Advanced Studies in Water at Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Jamshoro, for MS/PhD students of the centre, a press release said on Friday. He said that owing to rapid growth in population, particularly in Asia Pacific, consumption of various products had increased dramatically. He briefed the audience about the importance of SDG-12 which covers responsible consumption and production.
