JI to `quit` govt if CM cancels medical college for Dir

TIMERGARA: Jamaat-i-Islami, Lower Dir chapter, on Friday warned to part its ways with the provincial government if Chief Minister Pervez Khattak cancelled a summary sent to him by the health department for construction of a medical college in Timergara.
Speaking at a press conference, MPA Aizazul Mulk Afkari said establishment of the college was one of the demands of the JI before it joined the provincial government.
He said that the worl( on the college was inaugurated by the chief minister along with PTI chief Imran Khan in July 2015.
He alleged that the bureaucracy was trying to create problems for the ruling alliance in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, saying he believed that the chief minister won`t cancel the summary for the college. He said they had held three meetings with the CM and it was decided that he would give his consent to the project once the health department moved the summary in this regard.`If medical colleges can be established in Swabi, Nowshera and Bannu, then why not in Timergara,` Mr Afkari questioned.
He said the JI would go to any extent to realise the project.
Criticising the central government, the JI leader said it should `desist from creating problems for the provincial government`, and demanded that the centre immediately release the pending oil and gas royalty funds for KP.
CJ VISITS DISTRICT BAR: Chief Justice Peshawar High Court Yahya Afridi on Friday said arrangements were being made for deployment of an Anti-Terrorism Court judge in the district prison, Timergara.
Mr Afridi was addressing a function of lawyers at the district bar. District sessions judge Gohar Rahman, member of KP Bar Council Hazrat Rahman Advocate, district bar president Salim Khan Advocate, general secretary Abid Hayat Advocate, and others were present.Correspondent
