At state`s expense

2025-02-18
DURING the inauguration ceremony of the renovated Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, the prime minister, during his speech, commended the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for completing the renovation in just 117 days. Giving credit to the workforce of 2,500 labourers, the prime minister suggested to the PCB chief to send the entire workforce to London on a recreational visit. I fully endorse the re commendation.

All these 2,500 labourers should be sent to London at state expense. And, why not? When ministers and parliamentarians keep visiting London so frequently, almost as a matter of routine, rewarding the labourers the same way only makes sense.

It should not be an issue for the government at all. Besides, any brotherly country may extend a loan to the government to execute this noble gesture.
