MUZAFFARGARH: The AntiCorruption Establishment (ACE) arrested two patwaris of Fatehpur, Layyah, on charges of corruption and abuse of authority while a tehsildar escaped from the spot on Monday.

Layyah ACE Inspector Sarfraz Gadi arrested the officials on the order of ACE director general after an inquiry found them guilty.

The patwaris, identified as Muhammad Aslam Javed Sukhera andParvez Akhtar Jatoi, and Tehsildar Ahmed Kamal Buzdar were accused of depriving a citizen, Siddiq Akbar, of valuable land worth millions of rupees through fake transfers. They did the illegal act in connivance with Muhammad Aslam, Muhammad Bakhsh, Muhammad Ramzan and Imam Bakhsh.

Aslam was also arrested along with two patwaris while the tehsildar and other suspects escaped.

A case was registered against seven people, including three revenue officials.
