Police recover man kidnapped by in-laws for love marriage

MUZAFFARGARH: A man, who had contracted a marriage of his choice, was allegedly kidnapped in broad daylight by his in-laws while the Khangarh police rescued him within 24 hours.

According to the police, Adil`s love marriage was the reason behind his kidnap.

A day before the incident, his wife had given a court statement against her family and in favour of her husband. The police traced Adil using modern technology and recovered him from theMuradabad area, though the kidnappers managed to escape.

A case has been registered against relatives of Adil`s wife at the Khangarh police station.

The police spokesperson confirmed that efforts are under way to arrest the suspects.

OIL THEFT CAUGHT: Qasba Gujrta police arrested four people for allegedly stealing oil from the pipeline of Pak Arab Oil Refinery.

In a major crackdown on oil theft, the police caught the suspects redhanded while they were stealing oil by installing clamps near the Parcorefinery in Gujrat.

The police arrested four suspects on the spot and seized the clamp equipment. The gang involved in the theft hailed from Multan, Faisalabad and other cities.

The arrested suspects have been identified as Qasim, Bilal, Abid and Nisar, while nine other members of the gang managed their escape.

The police have registered a case under Section 7 of the AntiTerrorism Act (ATA) and Section 462 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).

According to the first information report(FIR), Parco pipeline officials detected the theft while patrolling the area. They noticed smell of oil near a locked house belonging to Qasim.

Upon investigation, they discovered that the suspects had installed a clamp on the pipeline to steal oil. The officials immediately shut down the pipeline.

Reports said several oil smuggling incidents had previously occurred near the refinery, with dozens of cases registered. However, no punishments had been imposed and only minor fines were levied on the offenders.
