Charge sheet in matricide case

KARACHI: Police said on Thursday in a charge sheet against an official of the State Bank of Pakistan in his mother`s murder case that the victim was under the influence of some `evil spirits` Ghulam Rabbani, a joint director at the SBP, has been booked for allegedly killing his 70-year-old mother, Naseem Akhtar, in their Clifton apartment on Feb 18.

The police submitted the charge sheet before a judicial magistrate (south) in which the investigating officer said that the woman, under the influence of evil spirits, had attacked her own daughter, Tanveer Fatima, and Rabbani killed her to save the life of his sister.

The charge sheet said that Fatima, the only eyewitness in the case, after recovering from the trauma, in her statement to the police deposed that her mother was under an outer influence and the scene in which she was scuffling with her was paranormal.
