Missing man`s body found

RAWALPINDI: Bullet riddled body of a young man who had been missing since Sunday was found in the limits of Chakri police on Monday.

Jalal Khan, father of the missing man, had filed a complaint with the Chakri police saying that his son Abdul Rehman,22, left his house on Sunday at 5.30pm saying that he was going to bring his friend to have Iftar with him at his house.

He said that after waiting for his son, he called him on his mobile phone but it was found switched off. He said after being unable to get through to his son, he contacted his son`s friend but his phone was also found switched off.

He said after being unable to contact him, they started searching for him. As they could not trace his son, they contacted the police and lodged an FIR under the relevant section of the law.

Police found body of Abdul Rehman lying in the green fields of Mial village at about 1pm on Monday.

Jalal Khan claimed that he had no enmity with anybody. His body was shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital for postmortem.

Separately, a bykea rider was robbed of his vehicle, mobile phone, and Rs47,000 by two people at gunpoint in the limits of Waris Khan police on Monday.

Nasrullah Mehmood, a resident of Hukam Dad colony lodged a complaint with the police saying that two persons booked his ride from Mandi Mor Pir Wadhai to Committee Chowk. On reaching Committee Chowk, they asked the bike rider that their mother had died and they intended to go to the graveyard near Committee Chowk to offer prayers.

He said as they reached near the graveyard, the two people held him at gunpoint and snatched his motorbike, mobile phone and Rs 47,000 from him and sped off.

Mohammad Awais Khan, a resident of Bahria Town, complained to the Rawat police that he along with his family members went to Giga Mall for shopping. On return when they reached near Garden city, a car in which two armed persons were traveling hit their car from the rear. He said as he stopped his car, the two unidentified persons took his family at gunpoint and snatched Rs100,000 and jewellery weighing 15 tolas before fleeing from the scene.
