Performance report of PA’s first year

LAHORE: The Punjab Assembly has released its performance report for the first parliamentary year, which ended on Feb 23.

According to the report, the assembly held 21 sessions, with a total of 106 sittings. At least 35 bills were tabled during the year and 25 were passed.

Following are the other key highlights of the report. Eighteen notices of private bills were received, of which eight were admitted, seven were referred to committees, and three were passed; 86 notices of privilege motions were received, all of them were admitted and 46 were referred to committees; 679 notices of adjournment motions were received, of which 288 were admitted and 287 were disposed of.

The assembly secretariat received 327 resolutions, of which 124 were admitted and 38 were passed.

The Punjab Assembly is the unicameral legislature of the province of Punjab, with 371 members, who are elected for a term of five years.
