Two gunmen killed in `encounter`

OKARA: Two alleged gunmen were shot dead by their accomplices who fled after a police encounter near village 1/1RA in the Renala Khurd area late on Sunday.
According to the first information report filed by Renala City Inspector Muhammad Akhtar Khan, he and his team were on night patrol near the Lower Bari Doab canal bridge when they received information that four suspects were looting passersby near village 2/1RA.
They rushed to the spot, and while en route, they received information that the suspects, who had looted some motorcyclists and a car, were heading towards village 1/1RA.
The police called for reinforcements, and Renala Sadar SHO Hafiz Athar Rashid, along with police staff, also rushed to the scene.
When the police arrived close to the gunmen, they started shooting, and a car rider was also chasing the dacoits.
There was an exchange of fire in the area of thevillage 2/1RA for some time, and when the gunmen did not surrender despite the warning by the police.
When the shooting stopped, the police found two gunmen killed at the scene. The police recovered two weapons, 25 live bullets, Rs25,000, two mobile phones, an ATM card, driving licence, CNIC, and bar cards of advocate Jamshaid, and two motorcycles on them.
The bodies were shifted to the DHQ City Hospital mortuary for a postmortem examination.
The Renala Saddar police registered a case under sections 302, 353, 324,186, and 34 of the PPC, and Section 2-A of the Punjab Arms Amendment Ordinance 2015.

The fact is that both were shifted to the DHQ City Hospital with multiple injuries and are stable at the hospital.
