Swat police arrest man for killing four members of family

SWAT: Police on Monday claimed to have arrested the main accused involved in the murder of four members of a family, including three women and a boy, on April 12 in Sarbab village in Marghuzar area.

District Police Officer Shafiullah Gandapur told journalists that a special team was formed to trace the culprits involved in the killing of a woman, her two daughters and a son in Kadono Sarbab area of Marghuzar.

`Our team worked day and night to trace the culprits and luckily initially traced the facilitator, Mir Afzal, a resident of Sarabab, who was in continuous contact with the main accused,` he said.

He added that through the facilitator, police reached the main accused, Sanaullah, and arrested him with weapons used in the crime.

He said that the incident occurred due to a domestic issue when Zainab, the wife of Sanaullah, came to her parent`s house and sought divorce from him. `When the courts decided the case in facour of Zainab, her husband came back from Malaysia and planned to kill his wife and mother-in-law.

The DPO said that on April 12, he along with his accomplice came to the houe of his in-laws and killed his wife, her mother Sultana Bibi, her sister Ayesha and younger brother Zubair.

He said that police arrested Saifullah, Mir Afzal Khan and two facilitators Shakur and Nazim Khan in the case.

DRIVE: Speakers at a seminar have said that it is the collective responsibility of all sections of society to enrol every out-of-school child.

The seminar was held in Charbagh tehsil to launch enrolment drive in the district. The seminar was addressed by National Commission for Human Development (NCHD) assistant director Fayyez Ahamd, SDEO Mohammad Ishaq and NCHD representative Sawar Khan.

They said that it was the responsibility of everyone to cooperate with the government in enrolling their children. They said that the drive would continue till the end of the month.

At the end of the seminar, an awareness walk was held in Charbagh bazaar.

Teachers, students, NCHD staff, and people from all walks of life participated in the walk.
