Judiciary members, employees face traffic jams amid PSL matches

2025-04-18
ISLAMABAD: A massive traffic jam on the roads owing to the Pakistan Super League (PSL) security leading to important buildings at Constitutional Avenue caused a serious traffic disruption on Thursday.

Roadblocks affected not only the general public and government employees but also judiciary members, as a judge of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) walked on foot to his office.

The traffic congestion near the underpass adjacent to Serena hotel brought vehicles to a standstill for hours.

The jam created chaos for those trying to reach offices in the Red Zone and the High Court premises.

In a highly unusual incident, Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro of the IHC was left with no option but to abandon his vehicle and walk to the court on foot after being stuck in traffic for an extended period.

Upon being advised by security officials, Justice Soomro reportedly stated that court proceedings were about to begin and that it was essential for him to be present on time. He then continued on foot and conducted hearings as scheduled in his courtroom.

Reports also suggest that Justice Babar Sattar was among those caught in the severe traffic, highlighting the extent of the disruption. Malik Asad
