K ARACHI: A young man was killed by a trailer on Superhighway early on Thursday morning, police said.

Gadap City SHO Sarfraz Jatoi told Dawn that the driver was reversing the heavy vehicle at a petrol pump near Kahtore when he ran over and killed 23-year-old Nidash Kumar. The deceased worked at the same fuel station.The driver escaped after the incident, leaving behind the trailer that was impounded by the police.

The body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medicolegal formalities.

Meanwhile, a 60-year-old man was killed when an unidentified vehicle hit him near the mausoleum of Abdullah Shah Ghazi in Clifton on Thursday morning, the Edhi Foundation said.

He was taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre but died during treatment. His identity could not be ascertained immediately.
