GUJRANWALA: A 17-year-old girl was shot dead on Thursday on the rooftop of her own house at Jagowal village in Noshehra Virkan, allegedly by three suspects, one of them nominated.

According to the FIR filed at the Nowshera Virkan police station, complainant Rana Muhammad Abbas stated that his daughter, Maryam Abbas, went to the rooftop of their house to deliver milk to their next-door neighbours.

He said that moments later, he heard gunshotsand went to the rooftop, along with his nephew Intizar, where they found Maryam lying dead in a pool of blood.

He alleged that on the scene they saw a local, Dr Nabeel Liaqat, armed with a pistol, along with his two unidentified accomplices.

He said the suspects managed to escape on seeing them.

The victim`s body was shifted to the mortuary of the local tehsil headquarters hospital for the postmortem examination.

Police have registered a case against the suspects and launched an investigation.
