LAHORE: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Tuesday arrested a publisher for violating copy rights.
An FIA Crime Circle team, headed by Assistant DirectorAftabButt,raideda shop in Urdu Bazaar and confiscated dozens of copies of book Faraib-i-Natamam by Juma Khan Sufi. The team also arrested the owner of Ilmul Imran Book Centre for violating copy rights.
Talking to Dawn, Aftab ButtsaidowingtoFIA`sefforts to minimise the violation of copy rights, a United States institution on intellectual property rights had struck off the name of Pakistan from the list of the countries committing copy rights violations.
`We have made a number of raids against those involved in copy rights violation that helped reduce this trend,` he said.
