QUET TA: The provincial government will solve the problems being faced by nurses in Balochistan, says Chief Minister Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo.
He lauded the services of the nursing staff at government hospitals and assured them that they would be provide d with the facilities they had been demanding.
`Nursing is a sacred profession. They serve humanity and never hesitate to help even those patients who are suffering from fatal diseases,` he said while speaking at an event held in connection with the International Nursing Day which was observed on May 12.
`The provincial government has been utilising all available resources to f acilitate the nursing department and provide better working conditions to them at government hospitals,` he said, adding that despite all odds, nurses had contributed to providing healthcare to the poor and helped doctors when treating patients.
He announced scholarships for deserving students at nursing schools.
`The provincial government won`t let the nurses down, as efforts are underway to facilitate them, said Mr Bizenjo.
The chief minister directed health officials to prepare a PC-1 for the construction of a new nursing school in Quetta. He also announced a risk allowance for nurses. `We will give an extension to all nurses appointed on ad hoc basis and pledge to increase the nursing allowance,` he said.
The chief minister also cut a cake on the occasion and distributed certificates among the nurses.
