KOHAT: Following abrupt closure of a shelter home here, the visitors and attendants of patients from far-flung villages and districts are forced to sleep in the corridors of local hospitals.
The shelter home had been opened a few months ago for the attendants and poor people to spend a night and have a dinner free of cost. However, during a visit it was found locked.
Though there was no public transport on roads, the poor people have been bringing their patients in private vans to KDA teaching hospital and the women and children hospital.
Sometime back a guest hall had been constructed for the attendants in the women and children hospital where the poor people slept, but it had also been closed down.
Despite repeated appeals to the administration, fans could not be installed for the attendants.
NO LOCKDOWN: The DIG, Kohat division, Tayyeb Hafeez Cheema while talking to ulema and elders has said that there is no lockdown for mosques, imambargahs and other worship places, but they should strictly observe the SOPs.
Chairing their meeting at his office, the DIG said that all rules were being implemented in the public interest and they should cooperate in this regard.
He stressed that they should observe social distancing, wash their hands and wear masks for protection against Covid-19.
