CHARSADDA: Police officials, including an ASI, narrowly escaped when unknown miscreants rid-mg on a motorcycle hurled a hand grenade on Zam checkpost at Monday midnight here in Tangi.

According to DPO Sohail Khalid, four police personnel, including ASI, were manning the Zam checkpost when unknown miscreants hurled a hand grenade on it.

All the personnel remained unhurt, the DPO said and added that a search operation had been launched in the area and the attackers would be arrested soon.

Meanwhile, a man identified as Qayyum Jan allegedly gunned down his wife over a domestic dispute in Kharyano village here on Tuesday.Jehangir Khan, brother of the woman, reported to the police that he was informed about death of hissister soon after the incident. He has nominated husband of his sister in the FIR.-Correspondent
