Man accuses daughter`s in-laws of poisoning her

TAXILA: A woman died after allegedly being poisoned by her in-laws in the jurisdiction of Taxila police station.

Tariq Mehmood, a resident of Gango Jumma, reported to police that his daughter was subjected to torture by her in-laws.

He stated in the first information report (FIR) that his son-in-law along with his family members gave her poisonous tablets.

The autopsy report confirmed that there were marks of torture on the victim`s body.

Meanwhile, Attock police on Tuesday announced that they had solved the murder case of two persons who were shot dead in the jurisdiction of Fatehjang police station on May 3.

According to police, a man shot Rasool Mohammad and his (the suspect`s) sister dead over honour.

A police team led by Station House Officer Sub Inspector Hamid Kazmi launched a hunt and arrested the suspect, who confessed during interrogation that he committed the crime. Police also recovered a 30-bore pistol and a 12-bore gun utilised in the double murder.

Meanwhile, a man who attempted to assault an 11-year-old boy in the jurisdiction of Hazro police station was arrested.

The victim`s father reported to police that the suspect took his son to an abandoned house where he attempted to sexually assault him.
