Millions of people to attend Azadi March, claims Mahmood

PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Mahmood Khan has said that millions of people will participate in Azadi March on the call of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf chairman Imran Khan.

He said that general elections were need of the hour because incumbent `imported` government even could not fix the prices of petroleum products.

The chief minister wasaddressing the inaugural ceremony of `Gulistan-i-Hazar Khwani Park` here on Tuesday.

The largest park of Peshawar city has been completed at a cost of Rs370 million.

The park, covering 280-kanal of land, has recreational facilities for about two million people.

The chief minister also inaugurated the newly-constructed building of Sheikhabad Girls High School. The building has been completed at a cost of Rs50 million.

Provincial ministers Taimur Salim Jhagra, Barrister Mohammad Ali Saif, Faisal Amin Gandapur and Kamran Bangash; MNA Shaukat Ali; MPAs Fazl Elahi, Asif Khan; and others were also present onthe occasion.

The chief minister termed the park a gift of provincial government for Peshawarites. He said that establishment of the park enhanced the beauty of Peshawar city. He added that separate day in a week would be specified for families to visit the parl(.

He said that old parks across the province were being rehabilitated whereas PC-I worth Rs14 billion for construction of missing link of ring road was submitted to relevant forum for approval.

He said that work was in full swing on construction of new general bus stand outside the city to resolve the issues of vehicular traffic in Peshawar.

The chief minister said thatwork was in progress on New Peshawar Valley City, a mega housing project. He added that all the government offices including Chief Minister Secretariat would be shifted to New Peshawar Valley City.

He said that projects were also under way to supply clean drinking water from Mohmand and Jabba dams to residents of Peshawar. He announced a prize equal to one basic pay for 20 employees of Peshawar Development Authority working at Hazar Khwani Park.

He said that he was thankful to the people of entire province for supporting Imran Khan. He said that the all public gatherings including that of Peshawar proved that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa belonged only toImran Khan.
