DERA GHAZI KHAN: A four-member committee has been formed to probe a sexual harassment complaint lodged by a female student against a faculty member, says a press release issued by the Ghazi university.
A month back, a university student submitted a written complaint to the vice chancellor about sexual harassment allegedly committed by her teacher.
The university administration allegedly tried to cover up the issue and now issued a press release after the matter was carried by local press.
The release said a physics department student filed a complaint about sexual harassment against a faculty member, upon which Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Kamran removed him from the post of chairman of the department and withdrawn all classes from him.
A four-member inquiry committee, including a male teacher, has been formed.
When contacted, inquiry panel head Dr.
Saad Leghari told Dawn that the committee had quizzed at least 26 people, including students, the complainant and faculty members while `we have sought a written reply from the suspect.
He said the committee would submit its report in three days.
