Addict kills fellow on drug issue

OKARA: A drug addict allegedly shot another addict during a dispute over drugs in the Renala area of the city on Tuesday.
According to the first information report (FIR), in the Basti Lal Shah locality in Renala city, Aslam and Saddam were known to frequently consuming drugs together.
On Tuesday, they exchanged words over drugs.
Saddam later entered Aslam`s house and shot him.
Aslam was rushed to the Renala Tehsil Headquarters Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The Renala city police registered a case on the report of Aslam`s brother.
MURDER: A man forcibly administered drugs to his wife, leading to her death.
Saima, who was married to Muhammad Mahfooz and resided in the village of 51/2L on Ratta KhannaRoad in Dipalpur, had ongoing conflicts with her husband over family matters. She left her in-laws` house and returned to her parents` home in the village of 51/2L.
However, her husband reconciled with her on Tuesday and brought herback to their house in Dipalpur.
There, Saima`s husband, along with his brother Abdul Q ayyum, administered drugs to her. Saima was referred to the Sahiwal DHQ Hospital where she died.
On a report by Saima`s brother Shahid, the city police of Dipalpur registered a case against Mehfooz, her husband, and two others.
ENCOUNTER: A suspect was fatally shot by his own accomplices near `Pul Qamber` in the jurisdiction of Gogera Police Station on Tuesday night.
According to the FIR, the Gogera police team received a wireless call during their night patrol that three highwaymen had robbed Manzoor and his pillion rider, Javid Iqbal, of their motorcycle, cash and other valuables amounting to Rs150,000.
When the police team approached the suspects near the `Bridge Q amber,` the outlaws started firing at the pursuing police party. In self-defence, the police personnel returned fire. After the shooting ceased, one of the suspects lay dead. It was determined that he had been shot by his accomplices.
Meanwhile, the two remaining suspects managed toescape underthe cover ofdarkness.
The police recovered the snatched motorcycle, an illegal weapon and the stolen cash.
The district medical board completed the autopsy at the DHQ City Hospital.
The deceased was identified as Sabir from Murdani in Okara. He was wanted in 25 cases registered at the Gogera, Satgrah, and Ravi police stations.
