LAHORE: A two-member bench of the Supreme Court on Tuesday rejected bail application of a woman accused of swindling money from people on the pretext of sending them abroad.
The bench, headed by Justice Ijaz Ahmad, heard the bail application of suspect Lubna Chohan alias Tubi at Supreme Court`s Lahore Registry.
Earlier, petitioner`s counsel submitted that the suspect was innocent and the FIA did not have an evidence against his client. He pleaded the court to grant her ball.
However, a law officer submitting a report on behalf of the FIA contended that 12 cases had been registered against the suspect and that she had committed fraud with 125 people after repeatedly changing her name.
He said a trial was in progress against her and if her bail was accepted, she would loot more citizens.
