NAGPUR: `His Exalted Highness the Nizam, has certainly taken a right step in announcing Hyderabad as Independent Sovereign State, after the departure of British Paramount Power from India and refraining from joining either of the two proposed Constituent Assemblies,` says Mr. M.H. Siddiqui, Secretary, All-India States Muslim League, in a statement to the Press, welcoming the recent firman of His Exalted Highness the Nizam of Hyderabad.
At the same time His Exalted Highness has also realised the necessity of keeping perfectly harmonious association and relationship with the proposed units and has clearly mentioned in his firman that whatever form of Constitution they may ultimately adopt, it will be the desire of Hyderabad to live in close friendship and amity with both.
On the question of a working agreement with the two Governments on matters of common interest, His Exalted Highness has given assurance that his Government will be willingly prepared to make such agreement with the new dominion units when the time comes. His Exalted Highness has unequivocally declared his traditional policy of always regarding the two major communities as the two eyes of the State and the State itself as an indivisible asset of all communities inhabiting it. I am sure the firman would be welcomed by all unbiased political circles in India. Dawn Delhi
