TAXILA: Regional Election Commissioner Aleem Shahab has said 164 display centres have beenestablished in Attock for registration, correction and transferofvotes and the centres will work till June 19.

He was talking to mediapersons during a visit to the display centre set up at a government school in Attock on Friday.

Mr Shahab said 35 centres have been set up in Attock, 26 in Hazro, 15 in Hassanabdal, 28 in Fatehjang, 27 in Pindigheb and 33 in Jand.

He said these display centres would facilitate the public for entry of their votes at permanent or temporary addresses as mentioned on their nationalidentitycards.

He said the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) was utilising all resources to ensure transparentelections.

He said that citizens can contact the area registration officer or officeof the district election commissioner for entry or deletion of votes.

The of ficial said there were 626,974 male and 684,531 female voters registered in the district.

He also visited different displaycentres and expressed satisfaction over the arrangements made there.

He directed the staff present at the centres to facilitate the citizens to ensure the participation of maximum voters in the elections.
