APPRECIATING FATHERS: Another

APPRECIATING FATHERS: Another Father`s Day (June 15) came and passed by without any fanfare. Fathers may not express their emotions, but their love and care reflect in every action. They wake up early, work hard for long hours, guide us, carry many responsibilities, and make countless sacrifices to fulfil their family`s needs. In Pakistani society, Mother`s Day receives well-deserved attention, but Father`s Day often passes without anyone taking much of a notice. Fathers also deserve the same love, respect, kindness and appreciation that mothers do.
Let us value both parents equally, and not wait for a specific day to appreciate them because a dayis not enough tohonour the people who give us their whole life.
E lishma Saddique Karachi NOT MONSOON-READY: With the monsoon season upon us, Karachi is yet again at the brink of drowning in its own waste. Piles of garbage accumulated on roads and streets become a breeding ground for diseases, such as malaria and dengue. Even a light shower is enough to flood the whole city and expose the crumbling state of the fragile drainage infrastructure. Sewage starts mixing with rainwater on the roads, flooding entire neighbourhoods within minutes.
Karachi needs more than surface-level efforts, press conferences and photo-ops.
The city urgently needs proper investment in waste disposal, sustainable infrastructure and sewerage maintenance.
Kiran Lal Kesrani Karachi LOADSHEDDING IN GWADAR CITY: Frequent power outages have become a norm in Gwadar, causing inconveience to the localresidents. The scheduleis never followed, and the duration of the outages oftenexceedsthe scheduled time. The lack of electricity has also affected small businesses, leading to financial losses and seriously decreased productivity. Being a city with immense economic potential, Gwadar deserves a reliable and efficient electricity supply system. The authorities should take immediate action to address the issue.
