MITHI: Light to moderate rainfall soaked different parts of Tharparkar on Tuesday, bringing relief and a wave of joy among residents across the desert region.

The showers were reported from Mithi, Islam1(ot, Nagarparkar, Chhachhro, Chelhar, Diplo and several other parts of the desert district. It turned weather pleasant after weeks of scorching heat, transforming the parched landscape and reviving hopes for better harvests.

On the rocky terrain of Nagarparkar, rainwater began to flow from naturalreservoirs and springs originating in the Karoonjhar Hills, forming seasonal streams and replenishing local water bodies.

Locals, particularly those dependent on rain-fed agriculture and livestock, welcomed the onset of monsoon with prayers and celebrations. -Correspondent
