Homage paid to poet Ahmed Khan Misrani

HYDERABAD: Speakers paid tribute to late educationist and poet Ahmed Khan Misrani at a reference organised by Sindhi Adabi Sangat at Sindhi Language Authority late on Saturday night.

They said that Misrani believed in lofty human values and always encouraged people to lead a meaningful and purposeful life. He never forgot his motherland and mother tongue. Men like him were born in centuries, they said.

They said that Misrani was a poet of present and future. His poetry was a eulogy of his motherland. He was not a conventional poet, he had shown great creativity inhis poetry,they said.

Late Misrani`s daughter Gulbadan Javed Mirza said that herfatherservedthe Heldofeduca-tion and literacy for half a century and wrote 17 books. He always struggled for the education of girls, she said.

Sangat`s secretary general Dr Mushtaq Phul, poet Shabnam Gul, writer Amar Sindhu, poet and writer Naseer Mirza, Ali Dost Aajiz, Zamar Mehboob, Hafeez Qureshi, Rajab Azad Solangi and other literary persons said the late poet was a teacher par excellence and everyone was proud of him.

Vocalist remembered THATTA: Speakers from different walks of life paid glowing tribute to renowned vocalist Allahdino Khaskheli at a condolence reference here at Makli Gymkhana late on Saturday night.

Theysaidatthereference organised by Thatta Arts Council that Khaskheli gained unparalleledpopularity for singing poetry of Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai, Shaikh Ayaz, Akash Ansari and other prominent poets. Khaskheli died in an accident recently on the Hyderabad-Mirpurkhas road while returning to his hometown in his car, they said.

Writers Rasool Bux Dars and Mohammad Ali Manjhi said that Khaskhell attracted a large audience of music lovers by introducing the poetry ofgreatpoets.

Senator Sassui Palijo who chaired the reference said that Khaslcheli received inspiration from his father Ali Mohammad and learnt a great deal from Ghulam Hussain Rangrez.

He attracted a large audience in Pakistan and abroadforhisunique style. His untimely demise was a greatshock and anirreparableloss for his fans as well as family, she said.The participants including Ghulam Hussain Rangrez, Mehbob Brohi, Sadik Lakho, Khaliq Soomro, Iqbal Khwaja, Hoorunnisa Palijo paid homage to the late singer by holding a candle-lit vigil.

At the conclusion of the programme, Mehboob Khakshell, younger brother of late Allahdino Khaskhell, his son Taan Sain and other singers enthralled the audience by reciting poetry of Shah Latif and Shiakh Ayaz.

PPP pays tribute to late minister BADIN: Pakistan Peoples Party paid glowing tribute to former Sindh minister and provincial president of the party`s Sindh chapter late Dr Ismail Udhejo on his 23rd death anniversary in Matli on Sunday.

PPP leaders Nadir HussainKhowaja, Saleem Yousuf Udhejo, Tanzeela Qambrani, Dr Anwer Palari and others said Dr Udhejo lived and died for his principles and always remained committed to PPP.

They said thathis tragic deathin a road accident near Rawalpindi along with Dr Jagdesh Malani and renowned journalist Fakeer Mohammad Lashari was an irreparable loss for Sindh.

They said that PPP had decided to commemorate death anniversary of Dr Udhejo on July 22 in which Sindh chief minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah, Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, Maula Bux Chandio and other PPP leaders would participate.

Earlier, the party leaders laid floral wreath on the grave of late PPP leader and offered Fateha and held Quran Khawani.
