KASUR: Three people, including a woman and her minor son, died while 15 others were injured when a bus carrying wedding guests overturned on Multan Road near Bhonayki Mor on Sunday.

According to Pattoki police, the bus (LXC-8892) carrying wedding guests was on its way to Pakpattan from Lahore.

When it reached near Bhonikay Mor, it overturned while negotiating a turn due to speeding.

As a result, Azra bibi, her five-year-old son Kamal Farid and Mazhar Abbas died on the spot, while 15 others suffered injuries. The injured were admitted to Pattoki Tehsil Headquarters Hospital. Police are looking into the matter.

DROWNS: A youth allegedly drowned in Mustafabad canal on Sunday.

According to locals, Imran and Babar of Jallo Mor came to Kasur to visit the shrine of Hazrat Bulleh Shah. On their return from the shrine, the two friends decided to take a dip in Mustafabad canal on Ferozepur Road.

While bathing in the canal, Imran slipped into deep waters and drowned.

Rescue 1122 divers were trying to fish out the body till the filing of this report at 9pm.
