KARAK: The Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl, Karak chapter, has expelled its eight members, including an independent candidate, for violating its discipline.
JUI-F district president Hafiz Ibn-i-Ameen told reporters here that the expelled members included PK-85 independent candidate Javed Iqbal Khattak, Banda Daud Shah nazim Shaukat Khattak, district general secretary Maulana Zahoor Ahmad, district vice-president Qari Jehanzeb, district joint secretary Mufti Khalid, district press secretary Maulana Ateequr Rehman, Zari Marjan and Taufeequl Islam.
He claimed that the decision to expel eight members was unanimously made by the district executive committee on the orders of party chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman.
Mr Ameen said the committee had also slapped an eight-year han on the re-entry of those members.
ACTION: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf district general secretary Azmat Khattak has said the party would soon take action against its district councillors, who hadn`t favoured its member and naib nazim, retired major Sajjad Barakwal, during voting on a no confidence motion few months ago.
He told reporters here that those councillors would be expelled from the party.
Mr Khattak said the party had no room for treacherous people and therefore, strict action had been recommended against them.
