ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court directed the chairman of the National Accountability Bureau on Monday to submit an explanation about the utilisation NAB`s resources.
The directive was issued by a three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Jawwad S. Khawaja during the hearing of a case pertaining to making recovery by NAB for a private bank.
The bureau sought cancellation of the bail of a defaulter of the bank, Mohammad Tariq.
The chief justice said that as per Section 51-D of the NAB Ordinance, the bureau could not conduct recovery operations for a private bank without approval of the governor of the State Bank. A case could be made against NAB if it had not sought the required approval, he warned.
