THE announcement by our President to confer Hilal-i Imtiaz on Zeba Ali on the occasion of Independence Day is indeedlaudable.

It is painful to note thatsuchlegendsof our film industry of yesteryear have been neglected or have been sentinto an era of oblivion. Artistes such as Waheed Murad, Mohammad Ali, Sabiha Khanum,Nayyar Sultana, Shamim Ara, Rani and Deeba, to name a few, brightened our once booming film industry with their artistic brilliance and exceptional performance which will be cherished for long.
