PESHAWAR: The Tourism Corporation of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (TCKP) is planning to organise the biggest ever tourism event of the country in September by holding a 4x4 jeep rally with a trail of over 1,700km, making it the longest and challenging rally route.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday, TCKP managing director Mushtaq Ahmad Khan during a meeting discussed the plan to organise the rally for the adventure lovers in the province.
The meeting was attended by additional secretary tourism Tariq Khan, director museums Dr Abdul Samad, tourism development consultant Zahoor Durrani, IMVolunteer lead Shahzad Hanif and Thrill Seekerz Club leader Lt-Col Sahibzada Anees.
The chair stated that the rally would start from Peshawar and follow the route via Chitral, Gilgit, Skardu and Naran and would finish at Islamabad to celebrate the World Tourism Day, said the statement. He explained that arrangements were being finalised for the five-day 4x4 rally for which highly skilled drivers would be selected through a screening process.
