LAHORE: A suspect was allegedly killed while two policemen were injured in an encounter involving the Crime Control Department (CCD) on Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Naveed alias Baidu. The police claimed that he had shot a police official dead in 2024 and was wanted in more than 100 criminal cases.

A police official saidthat a CCD team raided a place in the Sundar police area on a tip-off .

Suddenly, some suspects opened the indiscriminate fire on the raiding team, which led to an armed clash when the CCD police also returned the fire.During the crossfire, the suspect was allegedly murdered while his two accomplices managed to flee.

The official saidthe two policemen who got bullet injuries were shifted to hospitals; however, he did not disclose their names.
