US hatching conspiracies against Pakistan: Fazl

2017-09-18
LAKKI MARWAT: Jamiat Ulema-iIslam-Fazl chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said that time has proved that the policy to become an ally of the US in the war against terrorism was a great mistake as Pakistan suffered a lot because of it.

He was speaking at a gathering of his party activists in Lakki city on Sunday. Federal Minister for Postal Services Maulana Ameer Zaman, MPAs Munawar Khan and Anwar Hayat Khan and tehsil nazim Hidayatullahwere also present on this occasion.

The JUI-F chief said that former president Pervez Musharraf had bowed before the American pressure and his policies to support the US and its western allies in Afghanistan brought the war to Pakistan.

He said that terrorism and militancy made millions of the tribal people homeless and badly af fected life in the entire country.

He said that the motive behind attacking Afghanistan in the cover of fighting terror-ism by the US was to reach the resources in central Asian states. He said that the US had now joined hands with India to hatch conspiracies against Pakistan. `On the one side the US is raising objections to the nuclear programme of Pakistan, on the other it struck nuclear deals and trade agreements with India,` he said, adding that the US had also declared India a key partner in Afghanistan while ignoring the concerns and sacrifices of Pakistan.

Mr Rehman said that billions of dollars investment and launch of megadevelopment schemes under the ChinaPakistan Economic Corridor project were not acceptable to the US and India and that was why both the countries had joined hands to destabilise Pakistan.

Referring to the Pakistan Tehreek-iInsaf, he said that an agenda was being implemented to promote western culture. He said that the proposal to pay salaries to prayer leaders was also part of the same agenda, but the provincial government could not trap them by such tactics.

`The imams and ulema will not accept salaries from the government for implementation of the western agenda,` he said.
