GUJAR KHAN: A man was arrested by Mandra police on charge of gunning down his brother, who was a head constable, on Friday.

The younger brother reported to the police that apparently his brother had committed suicide as they heard a sound of gunshot from his room in Jilhari Moazzam Shah village.

He said when they opened the door of his room he was found dead, and his body was lying in a pool of blood.

The police took his body into the custody and was shifted to Mandra rural health centre for medicolegal.

The brother of slain headconstable had tried to give the incident a colour of suicide and a case was registered on his complaint.

However, the medico legal report revealed that the policeman was gunned down.

The police took the suspect into the custody and also recovered the crime weapon from his possession.

According to police sources, Malik Asif Awan, 35, was posted at Police Lines was allegedly killed by his brother over a petty dispute.
