Agri scientists urged to resolve post-flood challenges

TOBA TEK SINGH: Agricultural scientists should make collaborative ef forts and come up with tangible solutions for the post-flood situation in the agriculture sector, said UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan while talking to a colloquium for newly inducted faculty on Saturday.
He said the devastating flood catastrophe this year had wreaked havoc not only on the lives of the people but also the agriculture sector.
Mr Khan termed the research work a way forward to address the dif ferent challenges facing the country. He said the compulsory tutorial group meeting course was revamped for the character-building of all graduates.
PMAS-Arid Agriculture University VC Dr Qamaruz Zaman urged the agricultural scientists to work to ensure food security in the country.
ORIC Director Dr Zahir Ahmad Zahir and UAF deans Dr Muhammad Sarwar Khan, Dr Masood Sadiq Butt, Dr Asghar Bajwa, Dr Qamar Bilal, Dr Sarfaraz Hassan, Dr Ijaz Bhatti and Dr Jalal Arif also spoke.
