Two more held in online investment firm scam

BAHAWALPUR: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) claims to have arrested two more directors of an alleged fraudulent on-line marketing and investment company`ParpalDigital`.

An official said the FIA had arrested Jam Ijaz and Sajid Munir who had been running the online company through a software from Dubai.

The so-called investment company which was not authorised to collect investment had been operating and getting money from the gullible people whom they deprived of millions of rupees.

The FIA had earlier arrested several members of the gang but has yet to recover the money.

Officials say 25 or so absconders are yet to be arrested.

STRIKE: Fertilisers and pesticides` dealers observed shutter-down strike to register their protest against what they say unjustified raids and fines on them by the of ficials.

The strike was observed in the city, Ahmedpur East, Yazman and other places. The dealersalleged that their businesses were affected owing to daily raids by government of ficials.

SUSPENDED: Mepco Chief Executive (CE) Mehrullah Bharwana has suspended SDOs Muhammad Iqbal Bhatti and Muhammad Saeed from service for poor performance.

A press release issued by Mepco PRO Jamshed Niazi said both the SDOs belonged to Sahiwal circle. EXEN Faisal Zafar had been served showcause notice, it added.

ACCIDENT: Two labourers were killed in a collision between a tractor-trailer and a truck near Channar factory on Shujaabad Road in Lodhran on Saturday.

According to Rescue 1122 media coordinator Muhammad Safdar, a truck hit the rear of a tractor-trailer laden with cotton due to brake failure.

Labourers Muhammad Hashim, 35, and Muhammad Akram, 30, sitting on the cotton heap, fell down and were run over and killed.

The rescuers handed over the dead bodies to their f amilies.

A police team reached the spot to complete legal formalities.
