I AM a doctor at Mayo Hospital and I know exactly what happened with reference to the recent incident at the hospital. It doesn`t even come close to the news report that was published.

The patient was never taken out of the ward and he was never beaten. Dr Shehryar Niazi was the one who was misbehaved with.

The patient and his attendants reconciled with the doctors and the issue was solved. Someone has tried to malign our profession by spreading rumours.

Dr Niazi is the person who always stands his ground when it comes to protecting the rights of fellow doctors. He has helped his fellow doctors a lot.

Dr Hamzah Shahid Mayo Hospital, Lahore (2) SOME elements have spread a false report in the media to malign the reputation of a doctor.

I would like to point out that hospital authorities were the first to be informed by the doctors of the incident and the matter was resolved there and then.
