LANDI KOTAL: The residents of Malagori subtehsil of Jamrud have demanded of the authorities to establish National Database and Registration Authority centre in their area.
Notables of the area including Ajmal Khan, Aurangzeb alias Bacha, Shah Nawaz and Sabz Ali Khan said that they had to travel to Jamrud for getting their Computerised National Identity Cards.
`It is time consuming and an additional financial burden on poor applicants, they added.
They said that women applicants were faced with additional problems as they had to be accompanied by a male member of family and then were made to wait for long hours in inhospitable conditions at Jamrud Nadra office.
The elders said that at times they were not allowed by the security forces to travel to Jamrud owing to imposition of curfew during search operations in the area. It was a source of constant delay in timely submission of new applicationsand acquisition of the new CNICs, they added.
They demanded of the authorities to establish a Nadra centre in Malagori for convenience of more than 50,000 local residents.
