KARACHI: Doctors at the Civil Hospital Karachi and the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital on Tuesday staged a token strike at their workplaces to highlight denial of their `long overdue` promotions.

The doctors said they closed outpatient departments for a while.

They said during the brief strike they gathered in their respective hospitals, chanted slogans, and urged the authorities to promote them.

The two hospitals cater to thousands of patients daily at their OPDs. The token closure of the facilities created hardships for patients who arrived there from various parts of the city and elsewhere.
