SSP operations appointed

2019-10-18
ISLAMABAD: Retired Capt Mustansar Feroze was on Thursday appointed as the senior superintendent of police (operations) Islamabad.

A notification issued by Establishment Division said Mr Feroze, a BS-19 officer of Police Service of Pakistan, currently serving under the Punjab government is transferred and posted as SSP operations Islamabad.

The post remained vacant since February when Waqaruddin Syed was promoted and appointed as the deputy inspector general of police operations. The Central Police Office at that time gave the post to AIG operations Sardar Ghias Gul Khan but the prime minister cancelled the order.

Mr Feroze earlier served on several posts in the capital, including subdivisional police officer and SP City Zone.

He was the SP City during the sit-in of the PTI in 2014.

He and the then SSP operations Mohammad Ali Nekokara allegedly refused to use force against the protesters, said an official.

On Aug 29, 2014, Mr Feroze was asked by the acting IGP Khalid Khattak to participate in action against the protesters along with SSP Nekokara.

However, when action was started, Mr Feroze refused and developed differences with the acting IGP. As a result, he was removed from the post. Staff Reporter
