QUETTA, Nov 17: An official of the Kharan district administration was shot dead by armed men in Kharan town on Sunday.

Sources said that Kharan tehsildar Mir Liaquat Ali Jan Sihapad was on his way home in his official vehicle when he was attacked by armed men riding a motorcycle. As result of their firing, the Kharan tehsildar was killed on the spot.

The gunmen escaped from the scene, firing automatic weapons in the air.

Mir Salahuddin Sihapad, the younger brother of Mir Liaquat Ali Jan Sihapad, was shot dead a few months ago in a target killing incident.

Mir Salahuddin was the former nazim of Raskoh Union Council.

Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch condemned the killing of Mir Liaquat Ali and directed officials concerned to arrest the culprits immediately.
