MITHI: In a heartwrenching incident of animal brutality, unknown hunters caught a deer and chopped off its legs on Sunday in Mokhai village falling within Nagarparkar`s wildlife sanctuary.

The incident sent a wave of shock among residents of nearby areas and invited a storm of criticism from social media activists.

Some passers-by first noticed the deer bleeding and uncontrollably screaming. They alerted the local wildlife officials but none of them turned up to ascertain facts.-Imtiaz Dharani
