Security set-ups` burden

2014-12-18
APROPOS the points made by Mr S.S.

Pirzada in a letter (Dec 17), I am sure the legal aspects of his arguments are all valid.

The trouble is we are in a war situation and all our security agencies should be totally focused on fighting this war and providing security to the ordinary citizen who is unarmed and trying to go about their daily routine, particularly now in the wake of this horrible mass murder of children in Peshawar.

The security agencies have to determine their priorities and should be allowed to proceed unhindered. VIPs movements, political processions, unending dharnas and even the religious processions are a major distraction tothe services thatare already stretched to the limit. To now expect them to investigate and resolve election issues is pushing beyond the limit of their capacity.

Letusrecognise the threats to our existence and get our priorities right.
